Trébbete

In the past agriculture was the main economic activity of the Agro Nolano in the province of Napoli. Over the years, young people abandon this land, they are attracted by less weary jobs and many go look for opportunities elsewhere. I leave too. The villages of the Agro Nolano are progressively emptied of young energies and the elderly remain the last custodians of the peasant traditions. Trébbete is a personal and nostalgic gaze to the once lively places where I used to live and my attempt to keep alive the memories of the rural activities to which as a child I participated enthusiastically.

Trébbete is the Neapolitan word for the support pedestal positioned underneath big cauldrons that peasants used to boil tomatoes when making tomato puree.
